Terrance Michael Terry Hanson was 57 when he was killed on September 28, 2005. A sales manager at Ashland Distribution Company and a Navy Reserve member from Naperville, Illinois, he was known for golfing and supporting the Minnesota Vikings. He is survived by his parents, siblings, and three grandchildren.
His death was part of a larger crime that killed four family members. Terrance and his wife Mary Hanson, their daughter Katherine Hanson-Tsao, and Katherine’s husband Jimmy Tsao were all murdered. Terrance’s son, Eric Hanson, was convicted at trial of first-degree murder and related offenses; prosecutors said the motive was to cover up a fraud scheme in which Eric had stolen over $80,000 from his parents. The jury found Eric Hanson guilty on all counts and sentenced him to death.
If anyone knew Terrance or the family and can share memories or information about them, please contribute what you can.
