A 15-year-old named Kentravion George was shot and killed while walking with friends on North Main Street in Opelousas, Louisiana, on November 2, 2022. Witnesses say a vehicle approached and fired; George was struck, taken to a local hospital, and died shortly after arrival. He was raised by his grandmother, attended Opelousas Junior High School, and family described him as a good child who did not deserve such a violent end.
Police quickly identified four suspects and obtained warrants charging 21-year-old Christopher Coleman, 21-year-old Daylan Wheeler, 22-year-old Desment Green, and 16-year-old Daqualon Robinson with first-degree murder and assault by a drive-by shooting. Investigators suggested jealousy may have been a motive, noting George was walking with a girl who was the girlfriend of one of the alleged assailants.
All four suspects were in custody within days; three surrendered and one was arrested by multiple sheriff’s offices. Does anyone in Opelousas remember that night or have information about the vehicle involved?
