Tyrell Edwards, 18, was shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Cinnamon Square Apartments on Sage Court in Ruston, Louisiana. Residents transported him to Northern Louisiana Medical Center before Ruston Police arrived at about 1:28 a.m.; he died of his injuries and the incident was classified as a homicide.

Ruston investigators identified two male suspects and released images from apparent security camera footage seeking leads. A cash reward was offered for information that could lead to an arrest, and tips could be submitted anonymously. As of the latest reports, no arrest in the case had been announced and the investigation remained active.
