A dispute that began inside a convenience store in Eunice, Louisiana, on the evening of June 16, 2022, spilled into the parking lot and ended in gunfire that killed two young men. Responding officers found 17-year-old Aiden Cade McCauley, a Black male from Eunice, and 18-year-old Stanley Celestine in the store parking lot at West Maple Avenue and Boudreaux Street around 8:00 PM; both had fatal gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Eunice police identified 25-year-old Travis Godfrey as the suspected shooter. Witnesses said he fled in a dark-colored Dodge Challenger; that vehicle was later located and seized by police. On June 17 investigators arrested 36-year-old Lorraine M. Guillory and charged her with obstruction of justice and evidence tampering for allegedly removing a handgun from one of the victims. A week after the shootings, on June 22, Godfrey turned himself in with his lawyer, gave a prepared statement, and was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of illegal carrying of a weapon. On August 30 a grand jury indicted Godfrey, charging him with the first-degree murder of Paul Celestine and the manslaughter of Aiden McCauley.

Does anyone have information about McCauley’s movements that evening or witnessed what happened at the store parking lot?
