Eunice, Louisiana lost two teenagers to gunfire after an argument inside a convenience store spilled into the parking lot on June 16, 2022. Eighteen-year-old Paul Stanley Celestine, a Black male, was one of the victims; he and 17-year-old Aiden Cade McCauley were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds in the lot at West Maple Avenue and Boudreaux Street. Officers on a proactive patrol arrived within moments but the shooter had already fled in a dark-colored Dodge Challenger.
The Eunice Police Department named 25-year-old Travis Godfrey of Eunice as the suspected shooter and located and seized the vehicle believed to have been used. Lorraine M. Guillory, 36, was arrested June 17, 2022, on charges of obstruction of justice and evidence tampering for allegedly removing a handgun from one of the victims. On June 23, 2022, Godfrey turned himself in with an attorney, was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder and illegal carrying of a weapon, and by August 30, 2022, a grand jury had indicted him on first-degree murder for Paul Celestine and manslaughter for Aiden McCauley.
Does anyone who knew Paul or Aiden have information about the argument inside the store or the events in the parking lot?
