Victor Torres was 21 when he was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2008, in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. The shooting occurred around 8 p.m.; Torres was pronounced dead at 742 Cummins Highway and the Boston Police Department ruled his death a homicide.

Investigators at the time said the killing was not random and linked it to a surge of gang-related retaliations in the city. Crime scene teams collected evidence at the scene, including a large caliber shell casing, but the case remains unsolved. No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested, and Torres’ name is listed on the Garden of Peace memorial in Boston.

If anyone knew Victor, was there activity around Cummins Highway that night, or has information that could help resolve this case, please come forward to the Boston Police.
