Devon B. Johnson, 33, was found shot and unresponsive on Marigny Circle in the unincorporated area of Duson, Louisiana, in the early hours of Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was pronounced dead in Lafayette after efforts to save him failed. Johnson left behind his mother, stepfather, siblings and children; his family buried him in early October 2021.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office opened the death as a homicide. Local outlets reported authorities were searching for a man wanted in connection with the weekend murder, but public reports have not identified a suspect, a motive or what happened immediately before the shooting.

Anyone who knew Devon, saw activity on Marigny Circle that morning, or has information that could help the investigation is asked to come forward.
