Veronica Marie Billiot, 59, was killed on Saturday, February 20, 2021, during a violent altercation at the Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie, Louisiana. She was an innocent bystander who had gone to the store to pick up a firearm she had purchased when a dispute began over the store rule that patrons must not have weapons loaded inside the store.
The confrontation involved 27-year-old Joshua Jamal Williams, who entered with a loaded pistol and an extended clip. After firing a warning shot and fatally shooting clerk 47-year-old Noah Fiscbach, a gunfight broke out between Williams and other employees and patrons. During that exchange, both Veronica Billiot and Williams were fatally wounded.
Billiot’s family described her as a devoted Christian, a mother of three and grandmother of six; she owned Billiot Real Estate LLC and worked for Patrician Management at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station since 2007. Who in the community might have seen or heard anything that afternoon at the gun store?
