Andrew Keith was 21 when he was killed on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 21, 2007, in Dorchester, Boston. Police were dispatched about 3:26 p.m. to the intersection of Columbia Road and Devon Street after reports of a person shot. Officers found Keith with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene and the medical examiner ruled the manner of death homicide.
The shooting occurred in broad daylight amid a year that saw a troubling number of youth homicides in Dorchester and Mattapan. Keith’s death became one of several unsolved slayings in the city. As of late 2007 no arrests had been announced and no suspects publicly named; the Boston Police Department Homicide Unit was seeking information.
