Qile Sanders was 21 when she was found fatally shot on July 18, 2020, inside a vehicle parked on Bremerman Road in Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge near Lacombe, Louisiana. She was seven months pregnant with a son who also did not survive; investigators described the deaths of Sanders and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Sylvanus Ellis III, as a drug-related incident.
Authorities arrested several people in connection with the double homicide and the feticide. Among those charged were 17-year-old Peter Reimonenq, 19-year-old Christopher Roberts, 19-year-old Shannon Amos Jr., and 19-year-old Mikayl Young. Two others, 40-year-old Carwin Malone and 40-year-old Treneka Young, were charged as accessories after the fact for allegedly helping one suspect evade police.
In January 2021 Peter Reimonenq pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter and one count of first-degree feticide and was sentenced to 80 years in prison without probation. Shannon Amos, Christopher Roberts, and Mikayl Young later pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact charges and received varying penalties.
Did anyone know Qile Sanders or Sylvanus Ellis III, or have information about their movements in July 2020?
