On July 18, 2020, 20-year-old Sylvanus Jed Ellis III and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Qile Sanders, were found shot to death inside a parked SUV on Bremerman Road in the Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge near Lacombe, Louisiana. The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office determined both died of multiple gunshot wounds; Sanders was about seven months pregnant and her unborn child did not survive.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation that tied the killings to drugs and quickly produced several suspects. Within days investigators arrested 18-year-old Peter Reimonenq and 19-year-old Christopher Roberts. Two other 19-year-old suspects, Shannon Amos Jr. and Mikayl Young, were later sought; Amos was taken into custody and Young was arrested about a week after the discovery. Additional arrests were made of Carwin Malone and Treneka Young on allegations they helped Young evade capture. During initial interviews Reimonenq and Amos reportedly blamed each other for firing the shots.
Does anyone have information about Sylvanus Jed Ellis III, his movements in July 2020, or the vehicle found at Bremerman Road?
