On the evening of May 28, 2020, in the Bridge City area near Westwego, Louisiana, a drug transaction turned deadly when gunfire broke out. Timothy Cushing, a 38-year-old white man, was found with a fatal wound and died; a second person was wounded and survived. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office described the incident as a double shooting and opened an investigation.
Within days investigators arrested a 16-year-old male who was booked on one count of second-degree murder in Cushing’s death and attempted second-degree murder for the injured survivor. The teenager’s name was not released because of his age. Public details remain limited about how the exchange escalated, whether others were involved, or the subsequent progress of the criminal case.
Did anyone in the Bridge City or Westwego area see or hear anything unusual on the night of May 28, 2020 that could help clarify what happened?
