David Carter, 39, of Melvindale, Michigan, disappeared in September 2018 after failing to show up for work for three days. He worked at the Magna Seating Plant and volunteered with the Melvindale Junior Football League; family remembered him for his devotion to his son, DJ.
On October 1, 2018 a transportation worker found Carter’s lower torso and legs stuffed in a sleeping bag along Interstate 75 in Eagle Township, Ohio. His head was recovered in a duffel bag along I-75 on October 10, and his upper torso and hands were found in a suitcase on October 16. An autopsy determined the cause of death was a single gunshot wound below the left ear.
Suspicion focused on Carter’s six-month girlfriend, Tamera Tammy Williams. Investigators reported a large bloodstain and a gunshot hole in Carter’s apartment mattress; Williams was arrested October 5 but released for lack of evidence and then disappeared. A December 2018 felony warrant charged her with first-degree homicide, disinterring a dead body, and tampering with evidence. Williams is considered armed and dangerous and remains a fugitive.
Does anyone have information about Williams’s whereabouts in October 2018 or contacts who might have helped her travel after her release?
