Keaven Breaux was 29 when he was shot during a reported home invasion on April 8, 2019, in the Sunset/Grand Coteau area of St. Landry Parish. Emergency responders found him with gunshot wounds inside a home on Leo Richard Road; he died later at a local hospital.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office opened a homicide investigation, processed the scene for evidence, and appealed for public tips while trying to establish a motive and identify suspects.
