On the morning of Sunday, February 17, 2019, 26-year-old Lester Borne Jr., a resident of Reserve, was found dead inside a vehicle on Interstate 10 in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. The initial 3:30 a.m. call reported a crash, but responding investigators discovered the car had been struck by gunfire; Borne died of at least one gunshot wound. Two other occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office classified the case as a homicide and closed westbound I-10 for several hours while detectives processed the scene. Investigators also asked the public about a possible related hit-and-run and sought information about a white vehicle that may have collided with Borne’s car. No arrests or publicly announced suspects have been reported, and the case remains open and unresolved.
Does anyone have information about that night or remember seeing a white vehicle on westbound I-10 near LaPlace around 3:30 a.m. on February 17, 2019?
