On the morning of December 27, 2018, Scott Daville, 56, stepped outside his Juanita Street home in Eunice, Louisiana to investigate a disturbance at about 5:30 a.m. He confronted someone who was burglarizing his pickup truck and was shot once in the torso during the encounter. Daville was taken to a Lafayette hospital and later died of his wounds.
The investigation lasted nearly a year. In December 2019 police arrested a suspect in Lake Charles identified as Hikeam O. Wilson, who was 16 at the time of the shooting and 17 at arrest. He was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated burglary and the case was handled in adult court; a St. Landry Parish grand jury returned a first-degree murder indictment in February 2020 and Wilson was booked into the parish jail.
Did anyone in Eunice or Lake Charles see activity around Juanita Street that morning or know anything about the pickup truck burglary?
