Ethan ’Duke’ Smith, 29, was found outside his home on Toby Mouton Road in Duson, Louisiana, on the evening of Friday, October 26, 2018, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital but died of his injuries. The Duson Police Department, with help from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, treated the incident as a homicide and sought information from the public.

Within a couple of days investigators arrested four people in connection with Smith’s death. Two were named: 18-year-old Dontrell Clark and 18-year-old Zyshonne Rubin. Two additional suspects were juveniles whose identities were not released. All four were charged with first-degree murder. The motive has not been released.
