On the evening of Saturday, October 20, 2018, 18-year-old Joseph Aggison was fatally shot in the 700 block of Pulford Street in Opelousas, Louisiana. Witnesses and authorities described the attack as a drive-by shooting: a vehicle approached, shots were fired from the car, and Aggison, a student at Opelousas Senior High School, was critically wounded and died shortly afterward.
The family’s home had been shot up 19 months earlier, when 25 rounds struck the residence; that prior attack was mentioned in reports about the family’s history with violence. The Opelousas Police Department investigated the homicide and, within days, arrested two suspects. Keyon R. Prudhomme, 19, and Kenderick R. Bias, 18, were booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, indicating others were believed to have been endangered during the shooting.
Anyone who knew Joseph, was in the area that night, or has information about the shooting is asked to come forward.
