Lori Estelle Tanner, 38, was fatally shot on August 1, 2018, while a passenger in a car driven by her fiancé in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. as they were exiting Interstate 210 onto Lake Street. Investigators believe the shooting occurred inside the vehicle during an argument.

Her fiancé, Michael Edwin Vice, 46, was identified as the suspect, arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Vice at times gave conflicting accounts, including one claim that Tanner had accidentally shot herself, but the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office found the wound was a contact shot, which contradicted that account. Vice was held at the Calcasieu Parish jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

If anyone knew Lori, Michael, or witnessed the events that night, please share what was seen or any information that might help clarify how this shooting began.
