On the morning of March 15, 2017, three people were found shot to death in an apartment at a Metairie complex: 40-year-old Kyle Turner, 61-year-old Rosemary Charles, and 56-year-old John Henry. A woman in the same apartment survived but was critically wounded. A fourth victim, 56-year-old Harold Frissard, was found stabbed to death in a neighboring unit. Authorities reported no signs of forced entry, and investigators described the scene as consistent with a drug rip — a robbery aimed at drugs or money.

Within about 60 hours, police arrested 20-year-old Armond Tart and charged him in connection with the attacks; charges included multiple counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder for the wounded woman, as well as auto theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The violence left families and the community reeling.
