On the evening of May 31, 2016, 19-year-old Theodore Monroe III was one of two men shot in the 2400 block of Woodmere Boulevard in Harvey, Louisiana. Deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the shooting took place around 6 p.m.; both victims were found inside a vehicle that had stopped after crashing into a residential fence. Monroe sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The other victim, a 20-year-old man, survived with a wound to his leg.
Initial reports did not identify a motive or any suspects, and the account notes that no public identification of a suspect or arrests had been made in the years after the shooting. The loss has been devastating for Monroe’s family and friends, and key questions about why the shooting occurred remain unanswered.
If anyone knew Theodore, witnessed the crash or shooting, or has information that could help the investigation, please come forward.
