On the evening of August 10, 2015, 33-year-old Latoya Fountain was struck in the chest by bullets fired from outside her Gretna, Louisiana apartment and died on the living room floor. She had been watching television with her boyfriend while her two young sons were nearby in the same room; the boyfriend and children were not physically injured. The residence was in the 2300 block of Park Place Drive.
Fountain, described by loved ones as lively and cheerful, had temporarily relocated to the New Orleans area from Greensboro, North Carolina and was reportedly planning to return home just days after she was killed. Detectives have not released a motive, and no suspects or arrests have been publicly identified. Investigators have indicated someone in the Atlanta area may have information that could help the case.
If anyone knew Latoya, witnessed activity near Park Place Drive that night, or has information linking to Atlanta, please come forward to help her family seek answers.
