Derrick Slim Reed was 34 when he died from gunshot wounds following a drive-by shooting on Sanders Street in Thibodaux, Louisiana, on July 21, 2015. Police were called to the 200 block around 9 p.m.; Reed was one of three people taken to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and was the only fatality. Two other men survived.
Investigators described the attack as coordinated, involving multiple people before and after the shooting. By early September 2015, Thibodaux Police announced arrests: Jordan Williams and Brian Gibson were booked on one count of second-degree murder and five counts of attempted second-degree murder, each held on $1.5 million bond, and Kelsha Smith was arrested as an accessory after the fact and on an unrelated warrant, with bond set at $100,000. Authorities said they were still seeking two persons of interest, Cedrick Banks and Kenya Patterson.
If anyone has information about who else may have been involved or saw events on Sanders Street that night, please come forward.
