On Father’s Day, June 21, 2015, 21-year-old Trammell Marshall was killed in an ambush-style shooting at an apartment in the 1600 block of Apache Drive in Harvey, Louisiana. Marshall, a John Ehret High School graduate who had played football and attended the College of Dupage in Illinois, was among several people in the apartment when three men—Dartanya O. Spottsville, Jacobie Green, and Johnell Walker—arrived unexpectedly and opened fire. Marshall ran to the kitchen but was followed and shot five times, three bullets striking him from behind.
His cousin, 23-year-old Johnell Ovide, was also killed and a third man was left seriously wounded. Before he died, Marshall was able to identify one of the gunmen as Cobie, a nickname for Jacobie Green. Marshall’s mother later wrote that he opened the door not knowing that familiar face would be the last he saw.
If anyone has information about that night or knew Trammell, please share what you can.
