Bianca Davis, 23, was shot and killed on June 13, 2015, in Saint‑Martinville, Louisiana. A recent college graduate and former UL basketball player who ran the Breaux Bridge Youth Sports Camp, she was attending a fundraiser at the Casino Lounge on Main Street when a dispute involving the DJ spilled outside. As Bianca tried to drive away with her teenage cousin and others, gunfire erupted and a stray bullet pierced the vehicle, fatally wounding her; her cousin was also injured and her sister was present but could not save her.

St. Martinville police arrested 18‑year‑old twins Jamir and Jakil Sophus in the shooting. Jamir was initially charged with second‑degree murder and Jakil faced attempted first‑degree murder charges tied to the same night. Investigators indicated a shot fired by Jamir may have been the fatal round, but Jamir was released after 125 days in jail and formal charges in Bianca’s death were never filed. A security guard at the event later alleged police involvement, a claim denied by the St. Martinville Police Chief. Other arrests were made for circumstances around the incident, but no one has been convicted for Bianca’s murder.

Does anyone who knew Bianca or was at the Casino Lounge that night have information that could help clarify what happened?
