On the morning of December 24, 2014, a dispute over a debt inside a vehicle in the Bishop Woods area of Prairieville, Louisiana, turned deadly. Lewis Ray Sanchez, 22, was shot once in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene on Josh Brown Road. A second occupant was also shot multiple times and survived after being taken to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

According to the investigation, Sanchez and the other wounded man had ridden in a white Suburban with two other men to buy alcohol and narcotics. An argument about money owed escalated when the front-seat passenger, later identified as Kevin Sheppard, allegedly turned and fired into the rear where Sanchez and the other victim were seated. After the shooting the occupants exited the vehicle; Sheppard fled with a firearm and later burned the Suburban along the Mississippi River to destroy evidence. The murder weapon, a .38 caliber revolver, was not recovered, though scientific testing tied that type of firearm to the shooting.

Does anyone have information about the events on Josh Brown Road that morning or knew Lewis Sanchez?
