Laquincia Wilkerson was 18 when she was killed by gunfire in Baker, Louisiana, on August 28, 2014. Police at the time described the incident as a shooting by a drug dealer who shot his ex-girlfriend; the Baker Police Chief then, Mike Knaps, characterized the case as involving a claim of self-defense by the shooter.
The Baker Police Department investigated to determine the circumstances, and the self-defense assertion was central to that inquiry. The identity of the person who shot Wilkerson and whether that person was ever charged or arrested are not clearly reported.
Many questions about the case remain unanswered for the community. If anyone knew Laquincia, witnessed events in Baker around August 28, 2014, or has information about the shooting, please share what is known.
