On March 28, 2014, a birthday party at the Baker Civic Club in Baker, Louisiana ended in a shooting that killed three teenagers. Fifteen-year-old Kendal Dorsey, a student at Glen Oaks High, was fatally shot along with 18-year-old Diontrey Claiborne and 15-year-old Marcell Franklin. Nineteen-year-old Javaughn Simmons was also shot and survived.

Investigators concluded the shooting grew out of an altercation at the party, which was attended by roughly 75 to 100 teenagers and had only two security guards present. Authorities identified 16-year-old Nakeydran Williams as the lone suspect and believed the intended target was Javaughn Simmons. Williams was indicted in May 2014 and, after being tried as an adult, pleaded guilty in February 2016 to three counts of manslaughter and one count of attempted second-degree murder; the judge sentenced him, then 17, to 40 years in prison.

Some family members expressed dissatisfaction with the legal outcome. Does anyone have information about the party that night or the victims’ lives leading up to March 28, 2014?
