On the night of September 25, 2013, gunfire in the 100 block of Iris Street in Thibodaux, Louisiana, left two young men dead inside a car. The victims were identified as 19-year-old Tre Scott and 26-year-old Jordy Williams, both from Thibodaux.

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Alfred Starks of Thibodaux and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the double killing; he was held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $5 million bond and faced the possibility of life in prison as he awaited trial. A second man, 20-year-old Brian Jones of Thibodaux, was arrested and charged as a principal to second-degree murder. Prosecutors offered Jones a plea that would have carried a 20-year sentence; he rejected it and was later acquitted by a jury after deliberation.

Anyone who knew Tre Scott, his routines, associates, or who was in the Iris Street area that night is asked to share information that could shed light on what happened.
