Meshach Mason, 19, was found dead along a railroad track near a wooded area on East 16th Street in Reserve, Louisiana, on the morning of August 24, 2013. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Mason had lived in Reserve before moving to Kenner; his death was the thirteenth homicide in St. John the Baptist Parish that year.

The investigation continued without arrests for about ten months. In June 2014 the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office announced two arrests: 19-year-old DeQuan Brown of Reserve was booked June 20 on a second-degree murder charge, and 21-year-old Detrick Labranch of LaPlace was arrested June 27 and charged with second-degree murder. A grand jury indicted both men in August 2014.

Who in the community might have information about Mason’s last movements or the area around East 16th Street in late August 2013?
