On the evening of May 9, 2009, 37-year-old Kevin Dewayne Foster was shot in the front yard of his home in the 1200 block of Alpine Street in Ruston, Louisiana. He was taken to a local hospital but died shortly afterward from multiple gunshot wounds. The Ruston Police Department responded to the shooting.

Ruston police, with assistance from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, investigated the killing. Several people have been considered suspects, and Foster’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit naming multiple individuals, but no arrest has been made and there have been no convictions. Ruston/Lincoln Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
