Jorge George Reina, 33, of Cathedral City, California, was shot and killed on the evening of December 13, 2013. He had lived his whole life at the family home in Cathedral City and worked as a gardener alongside his father. Neighbors knew and liked him.

Police were dispatched about 8:31 p.m. to the Dream Homes neighborhood after reports of gunfire near San Gabriel Circle and Santa Barbara Drive. Officers found Jorge’s body at the entrance to Agua Caliente Park; he was discovered without signs of life. He was last seen about 30 minutes earlier standing in front of his family’s house. After the shots, his father went looking for him and found he was no longer outside.
