Captain Keith Paul Chiasson was shot multiple times on the night of Tuesday, February 19, 1980, while responding to a complaint at a nightclub in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The shooting occurred as he attempted to arrest a suspect; the wounds he sustained that night left him with severe, long-term health problems.

Chiasson continued in law enforcement despite those injuries, serving a total of 31 years. On March 10, 2008, at age 51, he died from complications stemming from the 1980 gunshot wounds.

Did anyone in Thibodaux at the time remember reporting the nightclub complaint or know more about the suspect involved?
