Claude Anthony Williams II, 29, was found dead at his home on South Little Texas Road in Kannapolis, North Carolina, on December 7, 2022. Police discovered his body around 5 p.m. that day and by the next day had opened a homicide investigation.

Investigators say Williams was shot multiple times at his home. A neighbor’s camera recorded audio that sounded like gunshots, and the neighbor reported seeing a woman emerge from Williams’ house asking for help and calling for someone named Khalil before first responders arrived.

On December 19, 2022, Kannapolis police announced the arrests of Khalil Chapman and Jennifer Chanthaboun; both were charged with first-degree murder, and Chapman also faced a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon. Both suspects turned themselves in and were being held at the Cabarrus County jail without bond. The investigation remains active and police have not released further details.
