Keon Alston, 29, was killed on September 24, 2022, on Madison Street in the Fairmont area of Robeson County, North Carolina. The Fairmont Police Department has been investigating his death as a homicide and has obtained warrants charging Derrick Daqann Mcrae, also 29 and originally from Fairmont, with first-degree murder.

Police describe Mcrae as having had numerous addresses in recent years and consider him armed and dangerous. Authorities have urged anyone who knows Mcrae’s whereabouts to contact the Fairmont Police Department and have named Sgt. Cody McKinnon as the investigator leading the case.
