Tinikia Hodges, a 48-year-old African American woman, was found fatally shot in her Conover, North Carolina home on May 5, 2022. Her mother, Diane Bender, discovered the body after Tinikia failed to show up for work. Conover police determined the cause of death was gunshot wounds and quickly identified Tinikia’s husband, Donald Ray Hodges, as the primary suspect.
Donald Hodges, who has also used the names Tyrone Evans and Unique Hodges, was last seen in a Charlotte hotel the morning of the murder appearing under the influence of hallucinogenic narcotics and vandalizing the lobby. He was taken to a hospital but left before receiving treatment. An arrest warrant charging him with first-degree murder was issued on May 10, 2022. The U.S. Marshals Service offered a reward up to $10,000 and authorities say Hodges is considered armed and dangerous and may be using dating apps to meet people and obtain money while evading capture.
Tinikia’s family has held vigils and raised additional reward money while urging anyone with information to contact the U.S. Marshals Service or local law enforcement. If anyone knew Tinikia or has information about Donald Hodges’ whereabouts, please come forward.
