Kedrick Tevon Green, known as Cricket, was 29 when he was found dead in his vehicle at Southwood Apartments off Christ School Road in Arden, North Carolina, on November 18, 2021. Deputies discovered he had been shot at close range, suffering gunshot wounds to the head, neck, and torso. Responding deputies arrived about 8:30 a.m.
Investigators identified 44-year-old Alfred Louis Logan Jr. of Asheville as the primary suspect through surveillance video and cell phone data indicating Green’s phone had been moved from his car to Logan’s home address. Phone records show Logan and Green were in contact minutes before the shooting. Witnesses reported Green’s car outside the complex the night before, hearing an engine rev and a horn, and seeing someone run from the vehicle. Logan was charged with first-degree murder on December 1, 2021, and taken into custody on December 13, 2021. He later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 30–37 year sentence; Logan’s girlfriend Lindsey Nicole Calton and his sister Crystal Chevon Logan were charged with accessory after the fact, and Calton faced an additional obstruction charge.
Green’s mother, Terria Shade Lytle, delivered a victim impact statement describing the suffering of Green’s two children and criticizing how soon Logan had been free before the killings began. Green is remembered for his infectious sense of humor and contagious smile. Does anyone have information about Green’s movements in Arden on November 17–18, 2021?
