Ethan Cody Schroeder, 29, of Supply, North Carolina, was shot and killed at his home on Deer Vista Street on November 9, 2021, around 6:30 p.m. He was born May 20, 1992, in Catawba County and was the son of Robin Gale Killian and the late Larry LeRoy Schroeder.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office named 30-year-old Christopher Joseph Kelly as a person of interest; he was described as a white male with blue eyes, blond hair and several tattoos, including one on his neck and one above his right eyebrow. Investigators described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no continued threat to the public. Kelly was located, arrested without incident and charged with murder and with possession of a firearm by a felon; he was held without bond at the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
Memorial services were announced later and the family requested donations to local homeless shelters or no-kill animal shelters in Ethan’s memory. Does anyone who knew Ethan or saw activity in the Deer Vista Street area on November 9 have information to share?
