Bobby Tyler Braswell, 30, of Nashville, North Carolina, was shot and killed on September 20, 2021, at 1116 Mulberry Road during a domestic dispute with his wife. The couple reportedly had a history of domestic violence, and on the day of the shooting the wife called her father, John Henry Adams III, for help. When Adams, 58, arrived, a physical altercation occurred between him and Braswell. Adams produced a gun and shot Braswell multiple times in the back as Braswell tried to flee the scene. Adams was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and held without bond in the Nash County Jail.
Reports say Braswell had moved out of the home but still stayed there occasionally with his wife. The case raises questions about how the family’s history of violence and the decision to involve a relative escalated to deadly force. Did anyone in the neighborhood see what happened that day or know more about the conflict leading up to the shooting?
