Gary Dionne Lowe, 39, was fatally shot on August 22, 2021, in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was found early that morning on Carpenters Circle with a gunshot wound and was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, where he later died. Lowe was born June 14, 1982, and is survived by his parents Rochell Lowe and Connie Hamilton, five children — sons Xavier, Norris and Nathan and daughters Tega and Destiny — brothers Daniel, Michael, Rochell Lucas and Darius, two grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Salisbury Police identified 40-year-old Samuel Lee White as the primary suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. White evaded capture for several months but was arrested in July 2022 on an outstanding murder warrant and held in Danville, Virginia, awaiting extradition to Rowan County. The motive for the shooting has not been established.
