Cornelius Bargainer, known as Neal or Big Mouth, was 53 when he was killed in Detroit on October 27, 2015. Born January 18, 1962, in McKenzie, Alabama, he moved with his family to Detroit in 1968 and lived there most of his life. He attended Detroit Public Schools and was a member of New Starlight Baptist Church.
Friends and family remembered him as handy and generous — someone who could fix almost anything and enjoyed boxing, cards, pitching horseshoes, raising pit bulls, music, cars, and swimming. He raised a daughter, Kamilah R. Moore, with his late partner Sylvia Ann Moore; a son, DeAngelo C. Bargainer, predeceased him. Reports and crime listings identify his death as a homicide involving a shooting, but accessible records from the time do not show arrests, suspects, or convictions.
Does anyone have memories of Cornelius, details about that October 2015 shooting, or information that could help clarify what happened?
