Marcus Sean Snipes, 19, of Graham, North Carolina, was shot dead on April 4, 2021, near the road at Traveler’s Rest Mobile Home Park on North Church Street in Burlington. Police responded to a shooting at about 11:22 p.m. and found Snipes deceased at the scene.

A second victim, 27-year-old Carl Devonte Little of Elon, was also shot and was found in a vehicle on North Church Street with multiple gunshot wounds; he was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The Burlington Police Department identified a suspect and obtained warrants for 20-year-old Jose Huber Vasquez-Espinoza for shooting into an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. Authorities asked the public to contact the department or Crime Stoppers with information about Vasquez-Espinoza’s whereabouts.
