Robert Lewis Spencer, 27, was shot and killed on April 3, 2021, on Plummer Street in Asheboro, North Carolina. Randolph County deputies found three people with gunshot wounds; Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to trauma hospitals, one requiring surgery and the other listed in stable condition.

Jessie Jaquan Pratt, 24, of Candor, North Carolina, was injured in the incident, released from the hospital on April 4, 2021, and taken into custody. Pratt was charged with felony first-degree murder and held at the Randolph County Detention Center without bond, with a first appearance set for April 5, 2021. The motive and full circumstances remain under investigation as law enforcement gathers evidence and interviews witnesses.
