Lonnel Henderson, 26, was shot and killed on October 23, 2020, outside his residence at Wells MHP Lane in Wallace, North Carolina. He and Marshje Swinson, 29, were in a domestic relationship and had a child together. The incident began as an altercation between the couple that escalated to gunfire.

Investigators say Swinson fatally shot Henderson and also assaulted his sister, 22-year-old Shardonnay Langley. Langley suffered a gunshot wound to her forehead and was struck on the side of her head with the butt of the firearm. The Wallace Police Department led the investigation, with Captain Weston Padgett conducting interviews and Chief Jimmy Crayton handling the crime scene work.
