Christion Armani Threatt was 21 when he was shot dead at work on June 17, 2020, in Monroe, North Carolina. Officers responding about 11:30 p.m. to Darnell Inc. on Airport Road found him inside the warehouse with multiple gunshot wounds and eight 9-millimeter shell casings near his body.
According to the investigation, Threatt was at his workstation when a coworker, Kendrick Reid, returned from a break, approached and opened fire. Reid fled the scene but was arrested the next morning in Chesterfield County, South Carolina; deputies recovered a firearm believed to be the weapon. Reid was charged with first-degree murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied building, and investigators said additional charges may be possible. The motive has not been made clear.
Threatt’s family remembered him for a gentle spirit, an infectious smile, love of animals, and time spent with his fiancée Ta’sjah Williams. If anyone has information about what led up to the shooting or was at Darnell Inc. that night, please share what is known.
