Jamie William White was 26 when he was shot and killed at a high school graduation party near US Highway 13/17 South in Bertie County on June 13, 2020. Family and friends were gathered to celebrate two graduates when a disturbance turned into a fight and a gun was fired; White, who was standing in the yard, was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation opened an inquiry. Two suspects were identified: 36-year-old David Demery Jr. of Lewiston, charged with an open count of murder, and 26-year-old Larry Bridgett Jr. of Kelford, charged with accessory after the fact. Warrants described both as armed and dangerous with full extradition, and authorities asked party attendees to come forward.

If anyone was at that graduation party or has information that could help the investigation, please share what you know.
