Elijah Bear Diaz was 20 and living in El Cajon, California, when he was last seen on August 29, 2015. He had Type 1 diabetes and serious health issues, including neuropathy that caused severe foot wounds; he required insulin and daily care. His mother dropped him at his home in the 700 block of Joey Avenue at about 10 p.m., and the last contact was a goodnight text at 11:19 p.m.

When his mother returned the next afternoon, Elijah was gone and several personal items were missing: his TV, bedding, crutches, and a backpack that contained his diabetes medication. Items left behind included his glasses, toothbrush, and phone charger. His phone was turned off the following day and has not been reactivated; there has been no bank or social media activity, and he missed a scheduled doctor’s appointment. Family members say it was uncharacteristic for him to leave without notice and that his habit of hosting people at his apartment might have put him at risk. A reward of $50,000 has been offered and searches have continued, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

If anyone knew Elijah, visited the 700 block of Joey Avenue in late August 2015, or has information about people he might have been with that night, please come forward.
