Khalil Tyree McKoy was 15 when he was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting on the evening of February 7, 2020, in the Villages of Wesley Chapel neighborhood in Monroe, North Carolina. He was transported to Atrium Union after the shooting and later died. Khalil was born March 10, 2004, in Pittsburgh and was a student at Sun Valley High School; family and friends remember him as bright and creative.

Witnesses reported a dark-colored SUV, possibly an Acura, leaving the scene. Detectives say Khalil had a prearranged meeting with two males that escalated when guns were drawn. Two suspects were identified and arrested less than 12 hours after the shooting: Hunter Moore, 19, of Waxhaw, and Jalen Patterson, 20, of Charlotte, both charged with first-degree murder.

Does anyone who lived in or near Villages of Wesley Chapel that evening have information about the vehicle or the events leading up to the shooting?
