Tyson Logan-Leftwich, 22, left his mother’s home on Detroit’s east side on December 13, 2014, intending to pick up his father. A phone call from his father saying a ride was no longer needed was the last known communication before Tyson disappeared. His family searched for four months before a body was found on April 3, 2015.
Tyson’s body was discovered beneath the porch of a vacant house in the 4200 block of Bedford Street on Detroit’s east side. An autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound to the head; investigators classified the death as a homicide. There were no immediate signs of robbery and no suspects had been publicly identified. Crime Stoppers of Michigan offered a cash reward for information; the Detroit Police Department investigated but leads went cold.
Tyson’s family described him as loving and caring. If anyone has information that could help solve his murder, please come forward to the Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers.
