Yusefiman Wright, a 46-year-old African American man, was shot and killed just after midnight on August 9, 2019, at the Beech Grove Mobile Home Park on Washington Post Road in New Bern, North Carolina. Officers found Wright with gunshot wounds and he was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center, where he died.

The New Bern Police Department opened an investigation but details about suspects or a motive remain unclear. His death occurred during a period that saw other violent incidents in the city; police were also probing a separate home-invasion shooting on Mary Jane Lane that same night, though there is no indication the two cases are connected.

Wright is survived by his wife, Arndrea Wright; son, Tahjha Wright; mother, Gwendolyn Wright; and siblings Kamau, Hassanah, Saleem, and Ayonna Wright. A celebration of life was held at The Omega Center in New Bern with interment at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Does anyone have information that could help investigators in this ongoing homicide inquiry?
